Strengthening its existing presence in South East Asia, SQC recently delivered a world class seminar on the right uses of the CMM and CMMI models and the use of these models as an enabler to software culture change.
A lot of deep appreciation has been exhibited for this seminar, and it has helped to make management and organizations to pause before they chase maturity levels. Traditionally support services available for CMM based improvement in the region has been focused as another "certification" and SQC realizes that fostering the model in the right way is the bottom line if the models have to be successful. Government Organizations in the region and non profit organizations in the software industry extended their support and inaugurated the program. SQC also de mystified the essence of CMMI® in the program and helped clarify rumors that were being spread across the region on CMMI® and explaining about the transition period where the source models and CMMI® should be evaluated to realize benefits, depending on the organization and business needs.
Together with our business partners in the region, SQC's mission in the region is to make sure the South East Asian region leverages and benefits in creating a truly mature software culture.

Sasken achieves SEI CMM Level 5
Our Bureau
BANGALORE: Sasken Communication Technologies, a telecom software products and services company, has announced that it has achieved the SEI CMM Level 5. Sasken has been ISO 9001 certified since 1996 and was re-certified for ISO 9001:2000 in September 2001.
Mr Krishnan Puthucode, SEI authorised lead assessor for the assessment said, ``Sasken is one of the few organisations which has achieved excellence by providing operational flexibility in projects in conjunction with consistency and standardisation across all business units. The company has been able to reach the Level 5 maturity spanning its product offerings as well as its services offering, that makes it a unique achievement.''
